Our first Charity Golf Day took place Thursday 25th June at Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Course. The day started well with guests enjoying Perfect Pork Sausages with their Full English, and one of the sunniest days we’ve had this year.

Celebrities Ray Parlour and Phil Tufnell attracted some great teams, and our on pack offer, suppliers, customers and our fans have helped us raise just over £20,000 for some fantastic causes:

- Local Kent charity Demelza Kent (a local hospice providing specialist care to children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses and their familie
- Zach’s Charity, in aid of Zach Kilkenny who is the son of Jane Kilkenny, a valued colleague at debbie&andrew’s.  Zach suffers from a very rare disease called MoyaMoya, for which there is no cure.

- The Prince’s Countryside Fund, which gives grants to projects that support the people who take care of the countryside.

We were fortunate to receive support from forty players and our suppliers also backed the event, sponsoring various aspects of the day. In addition our raffle raised an incredible £880, and the “Golfing Etiquette Boxes’ weighed heavy as the teams returned to the club house!

The debbie&andrew’s team took to the golf course with Phil Tufnell who played alongside our boss Ian Bagnall and two debbie&andrew’s fans Jon and David, who entered a competition to win their place on the charity golf day. Not only did they win this prize, but they also ended up winning the event itself!

Geoff Swain of Golf Unplugged astounded our guests with some pretty amazing trick shots, you can see his super long club here in this funny vine (put together by Jon for Phil Tufnell)!
