Recipes

It's been a while since I updated as we are so busy here at the farm!

When I last wrote Nicky had just had her piglets, but now they are growing so fast you can almost watch them! Polly the sausage dog can now run underneath them. I have had to fence them out of my garden though as they were digging up my flower beds! However Polly has now got her hands full as our eldest son has just got a new spaniel puppy of his own, called Stella. She is quite a character and has taken up residence in with Polly in her basket (although I don't Polly invited her!) and Polly is doing a wonderful job as surrogate mum!

It feels like Spring has come all at once and I have so many ideas for lovely summer recipes. I always feel like eating lighter food in the warm weather, plus our sausages make such lovely BBQ bangers, so I've been working on some sausage salads and yummy kebabs for sunny days. This weekend I'm having a big cooking session and inviting all the family so we'll be picking our favourites and getting them on the web and recipe cards very soon. But if you are already in the mood for summer food then why not check out our recipe pages where there are lots of ideas!

Have you tried our new children's sausage Ellie and Roddy's yet? It's a really lovely sausage, not only does it look adorable and taste great, but it's got lower salt and fat especially for the children! The reason I mention it is that we are having great fun at the moment coming up with some recipes especially for children to make. They are inspired by our own children and some are created by Ellie and Roddy themselves. Lovely pancakes, tiny toads and healthy lunchbox ideas. Again we're going to try them this weekend and will have the favourites on the web in the next couple of weeks. Also I hope we'll be able to go into some local schools and do some cooking with the children, so watch this space!

Please do send me your favourite recipes and drop me a line if you would like our new summer recipe cards when they come out.

Hope the sun is shining with you!
